Housekeeping

Our housekeeping team are expanding, and we are looking for experienced and reliable people to join our team. With a variation of shifts available. The Role:

  • Cleaning all areas of Silchester Farm on a daily basis with a deep clean following a wedding or event. Inclusive of the events spaces, accommodation, prep areas and staff working spaces

  • Servicing the accommodation including stripping and making beds, cleaning bathrooms and replenishing toiletries

  • Replenishing in house amenities and room checks.

  • Ensuring the external areas are clean and tidy for any weddings, events or visitors.

  • General maintenance of the venue including window cleaning, polishing, etc

  • Assisting with delivery of breakfast and in house accommodation catering.

  • Maintaining in house facilities and ensuring all areas of the venue are set and ready for overnight stays, day and evening hire.

  • Oversight of all spaces ensuring the highest level of cleanliness and overall attention to detail across indoor and outdoor areas.

Head Chef

We are looking for a leader to manage our in house kitchen and full selection of diverse and bespoke menus. Supplying our farmshop with fresh products, and executing menus for events, weddings and in house private chefs - the role offers an opportunity to be creative with fresh, seasonal and british ingredients - the heart of our ethos.

The Role:

● Supervisory management from ordering to delivery of the event

● Maintain the high standards of cleanliness.

● Assisting with daily ordering from suppliers, monthly stock takes.

● Extensive knowledge of allergens policy

● Hands on approach to support a productive kitchen.

● Supporting our events team with menu planning, rota planning and holidays. Overseeing the kitchen and all operations.

● Strong communication with the Events and Bar Managers

● Some lone working and early breakfast shifts

Event Manager

To help guide our couples and clients throughout their planning journey. This process will include the planning and execution of events, incorporating on the day running of events both front of house and back of house.We are looking for a candidate with 2 or more years experience within the wedding and events industry.

The role:

  • Running a team, organising set up, bar and waiting staff as well as communication with the kitchen throughout.

  • Organise and run all planning meetings with Silchester Farm couples.

  • Advise and suggest ideas to couples and clients with regards to timings and the running of the event. Actively upselling and embracing our food and drink offerings.

  • Coordinate any suppliers to ensure a smooth set up on the day.

  • Full ownership of office and diary management. Responding to couples and clients queries via email and telephone.

  • Social Media and industry knowledge and awareness.

  • Full coordination of the event day, venue point of contact for the client/ couple on the event day

  • Understanding of food and drink service - inclusive of allergen and dietary requirements, menu planning and exemplary customer service.

F&B Duty Manager

We are looking for a candidate with 2 or more years experience within the hospitality industry. Due to the rural location, the successful candidate must have a personal license.

The Role:

● Overseeing service at events across day and late shifts, working with Events Manager and Supervisors to ensure full cover at all time.

● Manage staffing levels and rotas, scheduling, training, and performance management of the food and beverage team. To include supervisors and casual staff.

● Monthly stock take, to be completed and submitted on the last day of the month, every month.

● To prepare beverages, interact with guests, take orders and serve drinks, restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.

● Process payments and reconcile transactions

● Ensure a truly warm and welcoming experience for guests at Silchester farm.

● Manage bar ordering and control of stock items ensuring availability at all times. Help to manage cost of sales to ensure maximum departmental profit is achieved

● Constantly evaluate and improve the experience for our guests

● Attend regular team meetings always ensuring a strong and clear flow of communication ● Keep up to date with business trends, systems and practices within the food and beverage industry to enable us to remain current and open to opportunities to improve the profitability of the department.

● Assist in encouraging up selling and on selling to optimize revenue across all food and beverage services. Creating and adapting recipes to ensure profit margin is consistent.

● Check guests’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age

● Assisting with support to Event Manager on all event days where required and implementing and executing full and concise handovers

● Comply with all health and safety regulations, food hygiene standards, and licensing laws. ● Manage and monitor weekly cleans of both Hen House and Cowshed Bar and prep spaces including but not exclusive to the cellar and both front and back of house areas and storage.

● Ensure the bars are ready to operate ahead of events and showround days.

● Comprehensive close after the event assist with inventory, food storage and closing procedures.

● Creation and implementation of new bar products and supplier research to further increase the visibility of our business ethos and values.

● Sound management through events inclusive of security site walk. Shut down to be executed to complete checklist and ensure implemented on every occasion.

● Personal License holder.

Assistant Bar Manager

To support our F&B Duty Manager, in the smooth running of our bar and front of house areas through all events. Our Assistant Bar Manager has the opportunity to work with a experienced events team, to elevate all of the bar and drinks offerings.

The role:

  • Ensuring the bar is clean, maintained, stocked and well presented at all times

  • Assisting with stock takes and cellar management

  • Providing excellent customer service, serving customers and assisting with event day drinks preperation

  • Creating new drinks and developing new products

  • Working with suppliers to embed the ethos of our brand into all of our services

  • Managing the f&b team on event days, supervising service and full shut down

  • Overseeing site security and assisting with noise management practice and processes

  • Training the f&b team.

Casual Bar & Waiting Staff

We are always looking for enthusiastic and friendly front and back of house staff to join our events team. With private and public events offering a variety of shifts where no two days are the same.

From kitchen to bar, including set up and on the day event assistance - casual hours available to suit the right candidate. An opportunity to work across both the kitchen and bar departments, learning from an experienced and friendly team. Experience in hospitality is a bonus, as we can offer appropriate shifts to suit your experience and skill.

Weekend and late shifts included - candidates must drive due to the nature of the hours and location.
